About Us

Our story begins over 60 years ago when a few from Three Legged Cross had a vision to start a children’s Sunday school in West Moors. The building, as it is now, started out its life in 1943 as a corrugated iron shed.  This tin shed lasted for seven years before size became a problem and a new building was required.  That came in the form of a sectional wooden building - once the living accommodation for the RAF personnel at Winchester. This new 40ft x 17ft facility gave us the extra room we so needed – it would be 15 years later when we would outgrow this.

The vision in 1966 was for a new sectional building. It was sometime after this and with much prayer that a new building was built.  In 1994 Pinehurst was once again extended to include what is now the rear porch, sports hall, children’s rooms and at the same time the lounge was also increased in size.

In addition to this, Turbary Evangelical Church at Trickett’s Cross was also built through the visionary work of the people at Pinehurst.  The work at Turbary was

overseen by the leaders and members of Pinehurst until 1993 when the running was handed over to Turbary,

The vision, growth and provision of monies enabling Pinehurst to continue to grow into the 21st Century is a testimony to the God who says “I will build my church”.   It is God who builds His church here on earth and God who provides the resources for that growth.  We here at Pinehurst are indeed privileged to be His co-workers and the recipients of His grace and blessings.

With the new extension now fully finished we look forward to making the most of the great facilities God has given us in the knowledge that we build on the work and vision of those early pioneers – praise God.
